Whistler Pride Community Celebration presented by TD Bank Group

The Whistler Pride Ski-OUT and Parade is a signature moment of the festival. The vibrant colours of pride pop brilliantly against the snow as skiers fly rainbows down the mountain and transfer them waiting revellers to paraded through the village in celebration of diversity and inclusivity.

Post-parade activities include an the RMOW’s pride-themed Afterglow (open to all ages) at the Olympic Plaza, the Whistler Pride Youth Social in the Rainbow Theatre, and the Parade Day T-Dance in the Grand Foyer at the Whistler Conference Centre.  

Participating performers and guests include Filmmaker and Professional Snowboarder and Skateboarder Jake Kuzyk, a performance by non-binary drag star Gia Metric and DJ sets by Madam Lola and Bertossi.

3:00 PM – Meet & Greet at Skier’s Plaza

Skier’s Plaza at the base of Whistler will be buzzing with excitement as locals, visitors, festival representatives and respected guests assemble for a brief welcome ceremony mingle in anticipation of the arrival of the flag-bearers. 

Dress colourfully and creatively (and for the weather) to express your pride and allyship at this free public event.

rainbow ski-out

Flag-bearing skiers and snowboarders hoist aloft a larger-than-life Pride flag while slaloming down the mountain from Mid-Station to the village. They are welcomed by cheers and applause as they arrive at the base – set to transfer the flags to the waiting crowd. 

Parade through the village

Everyone is invited to join Parade Marshal Gia Metric (Canada’s Drag Race season 2) to accompany the flag on its route through the village. The parade will end at Olympic Plaza where the RMOW has a special all-ages pride edition of Afterglow with food, beverages, and larger than life entertainment.

PARADE DAY T-DANCE  

Everyone is welcome as the joyful energy of the parade moves to the Grand Foyer of the Whistler Conference Centre where DJ sets by Madam Lola and Bertossi will have the crowd dancing, jumping, and scream-singing along to classic pride anthems and high-energy house music. Special performance by non-binary drag star Gia Metric.

Free entry after the parade until 5:30pm. 
19+ ID Required.  

WHISTLER PRIDE YOUTH SOCIAL

A meet-up for Queer youth and allies ages 13-18 directly following the Parade on Friday January 27 from 4:30-6:00pm. Filmmaker and Professional Skateboarder/Snowboarder Jake Kuzyk will screen some of his work followed by a Q&A. Gender-fluid Drag Performer Gia Metric will also be available to talk about their experience and answer questions. Dinner and beverages included for registered participants.

PARADE ROUTE

The Parade will follow travel by foot following Village Stroll starting at Skier’s Plaza and finishing at Olympic Plaza.
