Whistler 50 – Ultra Marathon

Whistler gets ready to host runners from around the world to the Whistler 50 Ultra Marathon on Saturday, October 18th, 2014. Vancouver’s LGBT running club, Vancouver Frontrunners, will be sending a large contingent to represent queer athletes in this exciting 50 mile course.

This 50 mile (80K) event is centered around Whistler Village and the picturesque Valley Trail system. The event is open to Relay Teams of 8, 4, or 2 members as well as solo Ultra-Marathoners. The 8-person format alternates legs of approximately 13K and 7K, while the 4-person and 2-person relays alternate 20K legs. The 50 mile total distance is an achievable goal for novice ultra-marathoners, while still being a recognized qualifying distance for National Team selection.

Please ask for the “VFR” rate to ensure you receive the special offer. All reservations must be guaranteed with a major credit card number and expiry date or an advance deposit of the first night’s room.

These rates are also available 3 days either side of the Whistler 50 weekend if you wish to arrive earlier or stay longer.
