Whistler Pride gets ready to welcome a star studded line up next month at Whistler Blackcomb

The New York Times describes the Canadian ski town of Whistler, “… North America’s most cosmopolitan ski resort.” As you sashay your way through the lift line you hear Brazilians, Chinese, Russian, Japanese, Brits, Aussies, Kiwis, Afrikaans and it is no wonder then that Whistler’s Gay Ski Week welcomes the gay boys and girls from 26+ countries.

Celebrating 23 years of diversity on the slopes of Whistler Blackcomb, the annual ski week has a fresh new name – the Whistler Pride and Ski Festival, January 24-31, 2015.

The eight-day festival combines sports, culinary, wellness, social and cultural events.

SPORTS: Every day during the festival an army of volunteer ski and snowboard guides are ready to guide guests around the mammoth mountains of Whistler Blackcomb. Placing guests into similar skiing/riding abilities ensures everyone has a great time. Other sporting events include Nordic skiing, snowmobiling, snowshoeing, inner tubing and even bobsled and skeleton!

CULINARY: Whistler has some of the best restaurants both on and off the slopes in the world. Choose from fine dining to casual, progressive dinners, wine tastings to wine pairing and more.

WELLNESS: Whistler has award winning spas like the Scandinave Spa, a 20,000 square foot outdoor spa surrounded by forest and stunning mountain views. WestCoast Float a sensory depravation chamber to help reset after a long flight or detox/reset after a hard day on the mountain or dance floor!

CULTURE | PARTIES: Whistler Pride has something for everyone including a night of Comedy with Grammy and Emmy nominee Margaret Cho + Selene Luna, daily happy hour après skis, a mini-film festival and themed social mixers such as Bollywood Party, Cowboy/Cowgirl Ho down, Gender Bender Party, and an indoor pool party and women’s parties with DJ Lisa DeLux and DJ Kasha Kennedy. Not to mention the one of a kind dance events featuring the talents of international superstars like Freemasons (UK), DJ Abel (Miami), DJ Wayne G (UK), and DJ Seth Cooper (Chicago) and homegrown talent including NICK BERTOSSI, DJ QUEST.
